Jennifer Holmes, Ph.D., J.D.
Jennifer Holmes, Ph.D., J.D., is the general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary at Encoded Therapeutics, where she oversees the legal, healthcare compliance, and people and culture functions. Dr. Holmes has over twenty-five years of experience in both law firm and industry positions. Prior to joining Encoded, Dr. Holmes served as Associate Director, Assistant General Counsel, and practice group leader for the Cancer Immunology patent practice group at Genentech. Before that, she worked at the law firm of Ropes & Gray, LLP, where she represented academic, pharmaceutical, and biotech clients in various legal matters, including patent prosecution and strategy, patent litigation, due diligence, and corporate transactions. She earned her A.B. in Biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College, her Ph.D. in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics from Yale University, and her J.D. from Boston University School of Law. She is registered to practice with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
