The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the Accounting organization ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), corporate policies, and external audits.

The candidate will be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of problem solver who can navigate the uncertainties of a fast-paced startup to provide support for accounting related matters. This person will focus on monthly closing of accounts, preparation of reports and development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Drive the month-end close process by owning preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and other analyses.
  • Review the accuracy and timely transaction processing for accounting areas such as cash, prepaid, deposits, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals, leases, debt, equity and other general accounting transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Partner with manager and Finance team to identify and implement process improvements such as establishing infrastructure and governance, standardizing policies and procedures and accelerating the close cycle.
  • Assist FP&A with trend analysis and ad hoc analyses.
  • Support internal controls compliance efforts, which includes evaluation, development, implementation, execution, and monitoring of controls and systems.
  • Assist with audits, including preparing work papers for the auditors and analyzing data.
  • Collaborate with internal team and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Other duties as mutually agreed upon.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of Accounting related experience (audit, consulting and corporate accounting)
  • Mix of Big Four public accounting and life science industry accounting experience preferred
  • At least 2-years of experience as a Senior Auditor or Senior Accountant
  • Strong Excel skills to support month-end close and ad hoc analyses
  • Prior experience with NetSuite, Coupa, Workiva and FloQast preferred
  • Positive work ethic, superb communication, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail, and unquestionable integrity and personal ethics
